one of the best things i found was go to a barber shop or hair salon and get some hair clippings an apply them along the perimeter of the garden, and refresh them with new clippings every 2 weeks just find the spots they like to travel and place them out they will think there is a human close by and run away
No, you are on their turf, ecologically speaking. Next fall, when the nuts begin to fall off the trees – get right out there and collect them yourself and take them to the landfill so the squirrels have nothing to bury and little to dig up (they will still dig, but not as much once they realize it is not useful). You can also get a terrier – but it may do more barking than killing (if it never kills any of them, it is not much of a deterent, they actually like to tease dogs). You can also shoot them if you are in a rural area and it is permitted in your town. You can have someone trap them and kill or eat them or feed them to their animals, but just relocating them is still a death-sentence because they will not know where to get the food and water and housing in the new neighborhood and they will not know the dangers and will need to compete with other squirrels – they starve in the new location, normally, even though it might look ideal to a human.
Put moth balls around the perimeter of the bed. They will dissolve and leave the smell in the soil to discourage the pests from returning. This also works well for rabbits.
